The tenure refers to the land & not the project ... if for one reason or another, the developer end up "taking a breather" before building/construction commenced, then you have the situation you mentioned.

Be it a freehold or leasehold property, this situation is not uncommon ... but of course, you only feel the pinch when it's a 99-year leasehold.

IMHO, 99-year leasehold projects become less of a stigma as this young country mature in age ... the key issue, really, is the location of the project.

In the case of Kerrisdale, it will not be short of buyers because it's right smack in primetime Little India. So, if you can see beyond the "10-year loss in tenure" & wanna consider getting a unit there, feel free to approach me for a more detailed discussion.
